So why a photo of a post-box

This was what went through my mind when I was taking these photos and it occurred to me that people would think “why is Lulu posting a photo of a post-box?”

Well this is not just any post-box; it is 200 yards from my previous flat.

Last year after I was discharged from hospital and was still very weak, I had wanted to start getting out on a gradual basis and to also build up my confidence again to leave my safe nest.

Along the path to this post-box are trees and lampposts, when I had to post a letter one day I set of for this post-box (with my feeding tube in hand!) and had to turn back after 20 yards as I felt so weak.

I built up over time, using the trees and lampposts as a guide for how further I was walking along the road.

It took me 3 weeks before I could walk the 200 yards and walk back to post a letter.

I now cycle past this post-box when I am on a 6-8 mile cycle ride and I took a photo as it reminds me how far I have come.

I will also print the photo out and use it as a reminder anytime I feel depressed or down, or have any doubts for my path ahead.

Just wanted to share this with the whole world,

A life is so fucking wonderful and never take it for granted.

I remember the same sort of thing helping Julie after one of her operations. We could hardly get from one lamp post to the next without a rest.

Now you can even get as far as a French post box, that is impressive!
