France – Perpignan Trip Part II

I have finished preparing for the Gender Identity Workshops I am running next Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and as I am sitting in my comfortable living room with smudge cuddled up next to me, I thought “why not finish my weekend away blog.

Day 3 – Beach Sunday

Like a can of ronseal this is exactly what it says on the tin, a beach day!

As a dedicated sun worshipper by proxy of my family Italian genes I love hot weather and the sun.

After bouncing out of bed and another lovely breakfast, Caroline was kind enough to drive us to the beach (the clothed version)
Some of you may have read that our Caz likes a all over suntan, although I am a lot m ore comfortable with my body these days, while I am pre-op I will keep my swimming cossie on!

But post-op and after a bit of being a wanton tart for a while, I will go for the all over tan look, but there will be no photos!

This day choose to be the warmest day of our weekend away.

The beach was a nice quiet little place with a little place for snacks and drink about half a mile along from us.

This also brought a new first since my transition, my first swimming costume experience and I loved it!

Im my early days of transition I did not like going out without makeup on, did not still like my masculine body etc, but things have moved on for me now and I was ready to embrace my beach babe status.

Me and Caz went for a walk while Lisa stayed with the bags and stuff.

At this point I was really glad of my fitness routine, six months ago I could hardly walk 30 yards, now I was strolling bare footed along a beach with the waves riding over my feet

Also with a busy weekend I was lasting the pace, so any time I feel the “oh no” before I do my morning aerobics I will think back to these last few days.

It was also nice to go into the sea, although not to swim!

We went to the little beach place for an iced tea and relaxing and went back to the villa for lunch.

A lovely lunch of left over’s, (posh left over’sJ)

The afternoon was taken up with a trip to a pretty little village that had a flower show and then it was back to relax before an evening meal.

The restaurant we went to is a seafood one, due to lack of planning permission it is constructed for 3 months during the summer season and is then dismantled.

It is by the sea and we had a beautiful view of the sea as the tide come in and a beautiful moonlit sky.

The meal was good value with lovely mixed seafood for my main dish and helped with some glasses of wine.

Also during the meal I sat next to Clara and had a lovely conversation with her, she is really lovely company and I am so glad I also met her during this trip.

We went back to the villa and I did go to bed at 1am, and left Caz and Lisa to continue to later, was ready to sleep and sink into a cosy bed.

Last day – going home

It had come to the last day of a wonderful stay with lovely people.

Breakfast did have real orange juice, freshly squeezed by Christian the chef.

We had a little trip to a market and yes I shopped again! Even sort of half stripping to buy a dress due to lack of a changing room.

I also bought a lovely bracelet.

We had another lovely lunch, took some photos and then it was time to set off for the airport.

I was not surprised Lisa had decided to go home as her true gender, although she had worn unisex clothes on the trip over, I think the weekend away was a lovely time for her.

The trip back went very smoothly and I was soon home cuddling smudge (he had missed me lots)

Although the breakaway was fab, you just cannot beat your own bed.

Thank you Caroline for a fantastic time and also to Lisa for your wonderful company.

Also thank you to Caroline for the lovely photos she took of me and forcing me to pose lol

As I live on my own it is not often I get a chance for new photos, so it was nice to get some new ones taken by an expert.

So to next year’s trip.

Lisa is spot on! You do look great, and I just love that dress with the floral applique on the bodice, that you are wearing in that pic of you against the stucco wall!

Trips away are fun, but I know what you mean about sleeping in your own bed. Glad you are back home safe and sound, and comfortable in your own surroundings, but also happy you had such a wonderful time. Cherish the memories!

I have to add another comment. That pansy in your pictures is just precious! I did a blog once about the beauty of pansies, and how we relate to them, and should remain proud to identify with them, regardless of the derogatory comments from trans-phobic people! I'm hers to say, that I am proud to be a pansy!

How on earth did we fit it all into the weekend?

Think we have found an excellent support group formula.

I have read all three accounts of your weekend in France now. It's great to get the different points of view. I am also glad that Caroline made you pose for pictures. You take very good ones!

Happy Litha!
