This weekend (Sunday and Bank holiday Monday) is the annual Southend airshow.
A wonderful free air show organised by our council, but the last three it has been plagued by rain and cold weather, with some parts of the show having to be postponed.
So this Sunday the weather was hot, sunny and gorgeous.
Me, Jenny, my sister and her boyfriend all went along.
The day started with me getting up about 10:30, which is not to bad for a mature chick who had been drinking until 4am the previous night/that very morning!.
Hey I am of work, I can recover after the weekend, but I was ok, no serious side effects such as a hangover.
Jenny was also up and about in my flat.
I did forget to mention what a star she had been the previous evening, as she did not drink; she kindly drove us about and put up with harmless drunk people and she kindly picked Jeanette and Mark up from their motel after they had checked out.
Back to my flat as there was no where to park in Westcliff and my flat is a mere 10 minute walk from the seafront.
I had been going on some short walks since I have been out of hospital and on Iron tablets, on this day it felt wonderful to walk and walk and see the great outside again, I found that when you have been so weak that even a walk to your own bathroom tires you, that something as simple as a walk along the seafront is a treasure.
We found a cafe, and even though it was a busy day (half of the Eastend of London had come down to the seafront to brush shoulders with the 250,000 residents of southend, so a very packed seafront.
But in the very busy cafe, knives and forks with our meals would have been nice. Anyway who can’t like chips on the seafront?
At this point I noticed that Mark left the cafe to sit outside just before the bill arrived.
Earlier I had talked him out of walking along the seafront with a can of Stella.
1 – It is so Chav
2 – I know I sound like a snob, but drinking beers as you walk along the street is bloody awful.
3 – It was 1pm, does anyone really need a drink that bad!
And Mark is the most sun tanned person I have seen and it does not look good.
Anyway we make the way to the seafront to look for a place to view the wonderful show.
Jenny had gone off to take photos, and I knew she would take some good ones.
At one point I was sitting near the sea front with a cold bottle of fruit juice, sun on my face and felt so calm and content.
Five o’clock come to soon and my sister was going to have to catch her train back home.
I am going to visit her in 2 weeks time and also accepted a invite to stay at hers over Christmas.
Next stop my MRI scan on Thursday.
